Summer Camp

Whilst in bad company I agreed to organise a ride out this summer. At long last I have agreed a date and venue. The proposal is to meet up near Holsworthy for coffee, have a ride out around the area (lunch en route) returning to our place for a BBQ and a few glasses in the evening.

Covered parking for all bikes and (hopefully not required) drying facilities for your kit. Bring your camping gear, (which you can unload before heading out for the ride) no cooking kit required, set up in the garden, plenty of room available.
After breakfast we will head out again with Geoff leading the field on the Sunday morning run, not too early as there may be a few sore heads!

The dates are Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September

Come along and have a good weekend, 18 have already agreed to come along, three being lady riders.

Summer camp

Hi there,

just to confirm the times and dates of our ride out.
The dates are Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September meeting at The Bickford Arms Brandis Corner Holsworthy EX22 7XY.
We plan to leave at 1015am, so get there earlier if you want a coffee/cooked breakfast. The planned route is for just under 100 miles of Devon's finest rolling hills and minor roads.The pace will be steady to suit the conditions and type of road we will be riding on. Aiming to finish around 4-5pm, camping etc and bbq at our place after. if you want to camp just bring you gear.

I appreciate that not too many know me (yet), but some of the better known characters who have said they are coming include, Devon;Badgerrrr;Barry G; Bubbles; Happy Pilgrim; smiler and Yl100twin and as I said earlier 3 ladies are riding their own GS's.
The offer is there if you want to join us, you WILL be made welcome. if you just want to ride out and head off home after that's not a problem.


Sunday is a bit dependent on Saturday night!
Plan is for Bubbles to lead a ride out into North Cornwall.
No doubt Bubbles will fill us in on the details, plus he is the official photographer!

I can see a lot a people have viewed this thread, ideal weekend to meet fellow riders and bring the wife!

I should be there soon after you get back from the ride on Saturday, camping weather permiting, the long range forcast is looking good. Will try to talk Judy into coming in the car so I don't have to balance the beer creates on the back of the bike . Happy to lead a ride on Sunday if anyones up to it .

A bit damp in Holsworthy area this morning and when Bubbles hadn't arrived by 10.45 I was elected to lead. Not really my area but took in Bude, Launceston, Tavistock, Princetown and Plymouth.

Found some cracking roads and the weather didn't turn out bad after all

Sorry Dick many had a bit of a heavy night Saturday night/Sunday morning so was difficult to get much motivation for a ride on Sunday, still sounds like you had a good ride. Please don't be put off we have had some good rides in the past and I think there may be another one coming up in October .
