Sump Plate Removal
I was removing the Sump Plate from my 2004 R1200GS to do an oil change.
I was trying to remove the nut on the rear right hand side but it felt very spongy. I would turn the spanner in the direction to open the nut on the bolt but it was very spongy and just return to it original position. Eventually I applied more pressure and it just snapped. I was left with the nut and bolt which broke away from the rubber mount. Can anyone tell me does the rubber mount come away from the crankcase, can it be replaced or purchased.
When I was unscrewing the rear left one the nut and bolt did not separate. The bolt just unscrewed together with the nut from the bottom of the crankcase. I have tried to screw it back in but it got very tight so I stopped, hoping that someone here might be able to give me some advice as to what to do with it.
