I’m selling my Sunbeam 1954 S8 with a heavy heart! This bike was left to me by my father in his will, it has gone through extensive and expensive renovation costing thousands through ………. I learnt to ride and passed my test to do my father proud and have enjoyed this glorious old bike for a couple of seasons. I now know motorbiking is not for me!!!
This bike comes with reams of paperwork, step by step detailed renovation invoices and pictures, my father kept a log also of every ride out and maintenance carried out. I think the bike should be enjoyed and used by someone who has a love for it. It will be difficult to part, but it’s the right thing to do.
You won’t be disappointed as a viewing will demonstrate. Any questions please feel free to contact me and I’ll do my best to answer what I can. Based in Somerset
I will try and add more pictures when I can, if it ever stops raining to get outside and take some!!!!!

Ahhh! Forgot to put a price in. I’m open to sensible offers but think it should In excess £3k.

That’s a steal. Great story, a shame it has to leave the family.

Beautiful machine, I’m sure it won’t be lingering around before it’s snapped up.

What a lovely thing to have.

I have something similar left by my dad, it drips oil on the block paving the brakes don't really stop you, 50mph feels dangerously fast the gear stick and brake are on opposite sides but no amount of money would make me part with it, apart from the memories and a watch it's all i have left of my dad.

That must be the Beezer!
FYI done a fair few miles on the Velo but currently laid up as I’m, (under supervision) refurbing gearbox.

Now this is just an opinion……. But £3k is nothing these days, your drive suggests you may not need the cash….( I know I know … personal view and all that)

Your garage seems to have @ lot of things in it that could be moved to free up space, build a plinth at the end, park it on it…make a memory board of photos and stuff…. And each time you enter and leave, it will give you an inner smile….

Agree with the above suggestions.
If you really want it gone you could try advertising it in the 'Sunbeam Owners Fellowship' magazine, where they are appreciated.
I think it's free to advertise any Sunbeam, member or not and they seem to realise better prices. Especially if they are in good condition.
GLWTS or keep and enjoy the memories

Absolutely none of my business but I agree 100% with above. Once it’s gone it’s gone. If there’s anyway to keep it I would considering the links to your father. It looks just beautiful and it would be shame to sell for 3K

I may have got the terminology incorrect on original post making is sound like it’s been nut and bolt restored. It hasn’t. Huge amount of money spent engine, gear box and electrics etc but not fully restored. Starts and runs lovely etc etc. if you need more detail pls contact me. Thanks and sorry if there’s any confusion.

And in my opinion the better for it…

Thankyou. As I’m not a biker so say it was difficult to market. Had a great chap came to have a look but I think expected a fully restored machine. Felt a bit guilty as he’d come a long way to view but it was just an honest mistake!!

Trouble is some people expect it to be like new, others want a more original piece with signs of age, others a basket case…. You will find your buyer…… and they will love it.

I've been looking at Sunbeams for a while and sorely tempted by yours but the logistics of getting to Somerset (from t'big smoke) and getting the bike moved is, regrettably, a bit too much of a faff. Good luck with the sale anyway
