Sunday 11th Feb is the second Sunday in the month - when the BMW Club traditionally meet at the Log Cabin Hotel, Kirkmichael, for lunch at 12:30.

Anyone fancy a ride-out ?

I'm intending to go to Shepton Mallet (and back) on Saturday 10th (K1200) and hope to be at The Log Cabin on Sunday (100GS).

As the days are getting longer we could head North West afterwards and look at some snow. :thumb

Thermals at the ready & heated grips on 'stun'.

Bob.

Hey Bob,

If I'm at home this weekend - I'll try and make it :thumb2

Al :D

(Denis is lost in Egypt after I gave him the slip in Syria :o )

Can only manage a bimble for a couple of hours this Saturday Bob and snow's forecast here, so might end up confined to barracks.

Whatever day...........I don't do snow! :nono ...that's for Franz Klammer and Pieter Muller :rob

Oh...... do we have to call them "rideouts"?

(see the "Bambi" thread)

Al ;)

Bob

A 'possible' at this stage. 'Free passes' getting used up at an alarming rate.

Will confirm on Fri/Sat

Cheers

Hi Bob
have 3-4 inches of snow up here most of it compacted to ice on the track down to the house if by some miracle it disappears on Sunday then I'll be there.

Well, I was there.

Roads were not bad but started to get snow on the hills just south of Perth.

It then cleared until Blairgowrie and the ride to Kirkmichael (and on to Pitlochry) was very picturesque - or would have been if it hadn't been sleeting hard all the way.

So where were all the bikes ? Mine is starting to get a complex !

BMW Club members Ron, Bill, Jim & Judy were there, in cars. Judy has just had a hip replacement Op' so she is 'excused bikes' at the moment. Anyway, Jim has a habit of tipping her onto her ear when stopping his K1100LT in car parks so four wheels are definitely safer in these conditions

After lunch I went on to Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Crieff, Crook of Devon and back down the M90 from Junction 6. 174 miles in all. As usual the Caberg visor was useless and that sleet STINGS when you have to lift the visor to see :eek

Lots of snow piled at the sides of the roads and water everywhere. I'd have stopped and taken pictures but my (small) camera was in an inner pocket and I'd have had to open up my waterproof oversuit in the sleet to get at it - yeah I'm a wimp.

A few pics just to show what the Log Cabin was like and to let the Australians and South Africans see what they are missing :thumb
