Sunday ride out

if the rain holds back who fancys a ride out at week end ? meet about 10am back for about 2pm just in time for lunch ? heading toward the dales and Malham tarn ?

OK - I'm thinking of something like this - 10am Haydock Island (Jct 23 M6) and 10:30 at BP Garage at the tickle trout (jct 31 M6) weather permiting

I've never seen so much water in my life!! The B6160 was practically flooded all the way down to Skipton, in places almost impassible with sides of the road being eroded and washed away, as well as the walls In places, the tarmac had simply cracked up, and had water gushing up from underneath. The last 30 minutes home were probably the most miserable 30 minutes of my life to date.....cold and wet. I couldn't feel my fingers...

John's bike took on quite a bit of water, and his oil turned to yoghurt Luckily we had straps with us, so I towed him to the next town. After a call to BMW recovery, and a few brews later in a cafe, and he was homeward bound in the recovery van....

Home - wondering how a puddle stopped me in my tracks, i need to investigate the snorkel position as the river crossings I'v done before were a lot worse than that, be interesting to see how BMW answer how an adventure bike can be stoped by a few inches of water..

Bike is ok - as soon as we saw the caramac colour oil/mayo turned it of and got a tow from steve.....

alls well that ends well !

Not joking Jon, I have had much more extreme instances of dunking with my old bike (57 GSA) and it never missed a beat, this was down right wierd... feel a bit let down..
