IOW

would love to have a tour of IOW for the day
meet up with MR & Mrs little beemer again
how much is ferry
and can you just turn up
pay and get on the ferry ????:thumb2

Gazzabart, posted this info here before, previous page I think but yes you can just turn up for the ferry if you like but if you book it like i always do will save you a tenner. I normally book it online at: www.wightlink.co.uk under Specials then under Biker Bargains, £20.50 return, this includes pillion too. Crossing is approximately 30 minutes and you can come over either from Pompey or Lymington. If you prefer you can do an hr crossin from Southampton to East Cowes, not sure of the cost as dont use that crossing but you can check it out at: www.redfunnel.co.uk :thumb

Just checked out red funnel and its more expensive, £24.00 for a day return for bike does not mention pillion either ?? With winter on its way if you prefer you can always leave this little trip over until next yr if you all like, not much fun when its chilly and wet and be something to look forward to later on, entirely up to you guys, we are easy :)

Would also be interested to join you on a trip to the IOW. Have some friends in both Ryde & Sandown :Motomartinso will probably make a weekend of it. Last time i went over it cost around £45 for a return on Wightlink, :( were those bike special prices you quoted just for day returns Beemer? Also the roads (and ferry) were full of little buzzy scooter things, well around the town areas anyway. Still had some nice rides out on the military road? (nice views:cool) to Freshwater and using the roads over the center of the island (less traffic). Would be good to ride with someone with a more intimate knowledge of the area.

Russ, hopefully this link will work detailin about the biker bargain in more detail, its states its a five day return but naturally you can travel back in that five day period which is what we always do, I have never ever paid the price that you had to

Believe me there is a lot more to the Island than the Military Rd, lots of roads that sports and such like bikes dont even know exist, there are all sorts of lovely lanes and tracks over here that even I never knew existed and I have lived here all my life, since having my gs nick has shown me some nice places that are about over here :D
