Got up nice and early this morning (Monday) – bright blue sky and glorious sunshine, if a little chlly at 5.15am. Walked the dog around the village beck and got home for a bowl of cereal just in time to take child 1/3 and child 2/3 to school. Child 3/3 went with mum. Got home and dropped car off at local garage – ABS is playing up. :eek

Couldn’t decide what to do – I normally have 2/3 days off a week but this will change come September when I have to work 5 days a week!! Got to about 9.15. Yesterday I was musing about going over the water to watch some TT racing but was put off by the rather high ferry charges.
Anyway, got dressed in leathers and wheeled the bike out of his garage – been in there all on his lonesome for nearly a week!

But where to go?
Ah, child 1/3 is on a geography trip to Hornsea today with school. Not been there for a while but surely she would die of embarrasment if I turned up there with all her mates with her.

Scarborough? Yeah, why not? Sun was still shining.
So at 9.30 off I set and headed north towards the humber bridge. Traffic was failrly light but traffic is fairly light on most days in Lincolnshire.
Some nice early views of the bridge.

Handed over £1.20 to a cheery toll collecter who wished me a safe journey. Got through Hull pretty quickly and then took the A165 towards Bridlington.
Stopped off for a bacon roll and coffee at a friendly layby burger van - £2.40 seemed good value as the roll was stuffed full of tender bacon and the coffee was served in a nice mug, not one of those polystyrene thingys. This is in the layby just after the roundabout on the A165 at Brandesburton.

Bypassed Bridlington and Flamborough and headed straight for Scarborough north beach. Superb weather, loads of parking and barely anyone around!

Took a ride up Olivers Mount and then headed for Filey – again, nice and quiet!
Stopped at Beverley for a sandwich, crossed the bridge again and got home at 3pm just in time to pick up child 2/3 and get ready for Dad’s taxi runs after tea!

Not an epic by any standards but a very enjoyable 250 mile day out :thumb2

is that a disguised test mule for a 2010 bwm? :D
