Super Ténéré on eBay ... what's the consensus ...?

I have been keeping an eye on the Super Ténéré market with a view to (possibly) buying a late-model, low mileage bike.

This fully loaded 2020 bike (mileage 3,380 ...:eek:) has been on ebay for a while: it looks to be unmarked with a whole host of farkle, but I think £12,750 is too spicy for a four-year-old bike that's out of warranty. What's the opinion of you S10 experts on here as to what would be a fair price (...not an exact science, I know ...) .. or perhaps you might think it's a fair ask?

Had 2013 brand new £10k brand new from Chorley Yamaha .
Lots and lots of people will suggest most underrated big adventure bike .
When I wanted to downsize away from S10 was fairly difficult to move on .
So what ever you’re prepared to pay once you have a few miles and years on .It will not fetch a kings ransom.
I sold for £4600 22k miles 6-7; yrs old
Just a shame all those operatives suggesting how good an S10 is ,does not translate to sales?
So pay a fair price.
Keep an eye on rear spoke tension and inspection/removal of spark plugs every 12M (that can get stuck if not inspected.

I traded my 2012 S10 against my new Tiger Rally Pro 900. Just under 20000 miles on it. I got £5500. It was a first edition with the full luggage system it.
A cracking bike that I toured Scotland, wales (unfortunately) French Alps, Northumberland and many shorter trips. I would certainly recommend the bike to anyone wanting a comfortable upright touring bike. I only changed because my wife stopped coming with me on it. They’re heavy to move around the garage, car park etc. My RP900 is 63kg lighter.
 
That is way OTT, as others have said, indeed I am surprised that WBAB would bid just short of £8k, that's not far short of where late bikes retail.

We are in course of trading my 2014 ES currently, as my pillion is struggling with seat height these days. I had planned it as a keeper, but I guess marital harmony wins out ultimately, so we are looking at an R1250RS exclusive. As a 10 y/o, even with sub 10k miles it would still just be passed to underwriters, all of whom are guided by the poor prices being paid for these excellent, solid (if a tad dated in places) bikes. Best bid to date is £4,500 - I was prepared for bad news, but expected at least £5k, given mileage & condition. Yamaha failed to move on to a gen3, Euro5 compliant facelift, so I guess they are being gently forgotten.
 
The Super Tenere is a cracking bike! I had mine for 6 years and paid £9995 for it with 2200 miles and it was 16 months old. My missus has given up riding pillion, (osteo-arthritis and 5 fractured vertebrae put an end to that), so I decided to go for a smaller, lighter bike. At a Yamaha main dealer, I was offered £7400 for mine against a Tracer 9 GT+ and I jumped at it! Yes, I do miss the Super Tenere, I travelled all over Europe and Scandinavia on it, bur, for me, the Tracer is a great bike. By the way, the Yamaha dealership that I bought it from has/had it for sale for £7995, so, in my experience, the bike you are asking about is way over-priced even for an ES, but I do still miss my old bike.

I've been following several bikes on various platforms and none of them are shifting. I test-rode a new S10 shortly after release and loved it, but saw no reason at the point to lose my 1150GS in favour of what was then an expensive bike.

Now that I'm in a better position (with a garage for my bikes) I'm keeping my 1150GS whatever happens. So if the right S10 pops up at the right money, I'll give it serious consideration.
 
As an update, bike did not sell, he's just readvertised for £10,750.00 so that's £2k off immediately :blast

He must be feeling pretty sore. Having looked around he'll be lucky to get £8k I reckon.

I don't think I will. Strange message on the ad ... sounds a bit of a clown. How to alienate a potential buyer:

**UK sale only, and no test rides without the full amount in my bank account!, and absolutely no time wasters or dreamers need apply!!**
 
Whether it matters or not, that bike would have been £12k from Wigan or Chorley Yamaha at the end of 2020 or early 2021, new pre registered in Nov 20.
Mine was the last Z model at £10500 from Chorley in July 21, they had 2 ZEs left when I collected mine. Salesman told me they bought the last 80 S10s from Yamaha and pre registered them all end of 2020.
Best bike I’ve ever owned, def a keeper.

I am going by main dealer prices in my area. I traded in my Super Tenere (non ES) on 2017 plate and was given £7500. It sold pretty quickly at £9950, this was just 6 months ago and mine has 3 box Givis on and a front and rear extender/hugger fitted, so this ES seems close to being the right price for me. If the price is right, the bike will sell.

I bought my 2020 ES with 1500 miles on it from a main dealer in 2022 for just under £9k although is didn't have any bits and bobs with it.

They are brilliant bikes but don't seem to command high used values. Not an issue for me because it's not going anywhere!
 
This guy is asking more than a dealer would for that bike. He's down to 10.5k now, but he's asking what the last pre-registered bikes sold for new.

He's more expensive than any other bike on autotrader, even bikes with the same mileage/spec. Think I'd go to a dealer and get a warranty!

The guy's a ferkin' dreamer. Tell him you're interested when his price starts with an 8, until which time he can go screw himself.
