Hi folks.

Is anyone running a Supertrapp silencer on your GS? I’m looking at options and really like their disc system silencers.

I've got one on my Harley and use all the discs.

Mine is stainless steel and goes a lovely gold colour on the downpipes due to heat - I don't about a GS version.

I have one on my Harley. The Dyno guys I use at ruddington speak highly of them. We did a load of test with the discs all out and an open end through to 20 discs in and a closed end. Best power and torque was 20 discs and the end cap on.

On a high level exhaust system, especially near a plastic mudguard, a Supertrapp can melt the mudguard due to the annular discharge of the hot gases.
The mudguard also tends to get a soot-like deposit on it.

I had these problems on an XT600 years ago.
On a later fitment, I created a curved inner heatshield to overcome these problems, but I once saw a similar guard attached to a Supertrapp that looked like an optional extra.

I had one on my bike and one the very few BMWs that's sounded nice. Loved it.

Thanks gents. I can easily fabricate a small heat shield, looks like a way head.

Cheers
