There's snow forecast for the end of the month......

However, as to the gloves. I've got some Belstaff ones with carbon fibre knuckles, leather palms and stretch fabric backs. Now I know that Belstaff are no more but the last time I was in Jim Allan's they still had some of them. There are also similar ones from Alpinestars and the Icon Super Duty ones are probably worth a look, if you can get them.

Best ones I've found so far are these Alpinestars. Better than the BM 'GS' gloves and much better than any other MotoX-style glove I've tried - I'm on my second pair now. Very comfy, don't stretch too much, and seem to last about 20k before the palms start to wear though
