This is my first post to the forum.
My new RT (700miles)suffers from 'surging' at a closed throttle going downhill, and also at a fixed throttle at low (30mph)speeds.The dealer said this would be sorted at the first service. The technician rode the bike first, and confirmed that it was indeed surging. After he had done the service he test rode the bike and the problem was still there.I have searched the internet and the problem occurs on cars with 'fly by wire'.The diagnostic equipment says no fault.Any ideas folks?Happening to anyone else?

Interesting, can't say I've noticed this on my new RT (approx 650 miles on clock) or KTM 1190A, also fly by wire throttle. So did the technician acknowledge the issue persisted in the post service test ride? If so, why did they not attempt to rectify it before returning the bike to you? I'm guessing this is a setup issue, maybe including component change, scenario?

Downhill Surging

Phew! I'm not the only one to suffer this problem then! Can't say I've noticed many others complaining about it on the GSLC section. My usual route home involves me riding down a hill to my house & over the last year of ownership have often been aware of this rather annoying trait. Hard to describe other than a sort of chugging chug chug noise! Usually occurs in 3rd gear so I sometimes make the turn into my street in second to maintain some engine braking & prevent the surging or even just pull the clutch & Coast Down the road. It's my 6k service next week, will mention it at the dealers & see what they have to say.

It sounds like you need to be in a lower gear ...just a thought?

On the 1100rt this was sorted with a good throttle balance or re-calibrating the throttle position sensor. I wonder if the similar is at fault here? Does the LC engine balance the throttle bodies automatically or is it still a manual operation?

Might be mistaken but I thought on modern fuel injected engines, when on closed throttle the fuel is cut off
