For all those that came along to Roy's Wombat hunt last weekend (thanks for a great ride Roy) I said I would post a run through the Surrey and Hants lanes...

The dates will be March 4th (pref) or 5th; departing 10:00am from the public car park in Ash Green (near Aldershot, Hants) and returning for around 3 or 4pm depending on pace and how many lovely lanes we take in.

There are a lot of miles to cover on this ride so the pace will be pretty fast. It's likely to be quite muddy and technically challenging in places so it's aimed at Pogos and smaller bikes with suitable tyres. Unless you're riding god this one is not for the big GS.

If you're interested please post here.

Look forward to seeing you all on the day.

Jarv

Start and finish spot is here:http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=489500&y=151500&z=120&sv=ash&st=3&tl=Map+of+Ash,+Surrey+[City/Town/Village]&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf

Ash Hill Road, Ash, Surrey (nr. Aldershot, Hants)
Approx. GPS co-ordinates:
N51drg15.337m
W0drg42.981m

It's just off (1 1/2 miles) the A31 between Gulidford and Farnham or the A331 at Aldershot.

Can't make this one I'm afraid - it's my last ski trip of the season!

Hi guys, can you tell me why this trip is not suitable for gsa owners. Im up for giving anything a go. Do you ride mostly green lanes, deep mud and the such. I could be up for this depending on work.

I think that Jarv has a route in mind that you wouldn't take a goat around!!

I would really like to give this ago on the DRZ. :thumb2

I need the experience.

But I'm no goat:eek: So hope it does not turn into "A running Goat f**k", as some say

Hi - I'd like to come along on my new (to me) DRZ.

I will probably end up as tail end Charlie - but that's Ok with me if it is with you.

Cheers.

Sunday 5th it is....

Sorry guys.... been out for a while:blast

Defo go for Sunday the 5th.....

Anyone up for a 9.00am start instead of 10:00 or is that too early for those that have to travel? No worries if not - just thought it'd give us another hour in the mud:D

cheers

Jarv

Come on Si, which date is this going to be then? :augie

sure why not...

Hi RDub, as long as you're reasonably capable the ride is do-able on a small bike but the pace will be moderately fast.....

You're more then welcome - at your own risk:thumb

Having put myself down previously for the run out I can see that it will be quite a fast pace. Me on the DRZ400 will have a few problems with this so I will bin out early.:(
Bit more experience and then I will be there

cheers fellas and have a good day

Hey, I didn't want to put anyone off...:blast

The route is quite friendly if you want to skip the odd lane (coz it's difficult or other) and meet us further down the road....

Hi Jarv - I'm still up for it.

Strobingred - I'll be happy to stick together with you and skip any bits that may be too tough and meet up with the others further on down the road as Jarv suggests. Best way to get experience!!!

RDub,

Thanks for the offer of assistance. I am sure that we would cope with it and as you say thats the way to get the experience.

Unfortunately, my other half has now volunteered me to go to pick up the Mother in law from Derby. :blast
Out of the fat into the fire.
She only ever comes to get her broomstick serviced.:eek

I will keep my eyes open and get out on the next one.:thumb2

Cheers
