Hi again from TWO magazine

We're asking owners of BMW R1150GSs to complete a short survey for a regular article in TWO magazine called 'The TWO Review'. We know the 1150GS is a great bike but we'd love to hear more about them from the people who own and run them.

Also we'd love to see pictures of you and/or your bike to include in the final article. If you have any we can use, could you email them to [email protected] and also copy/CC them to [email protected] and please mention your name so we can match them to your answers.

One person who fills in this survey will be selected at random and will receive a new Shark helmet. Also it's a chance to get your opinions and photos in the magazine if you want and we'll mention the website in the final article too.

Many thanks.

How much do you pay per pic? And does one need to be a member of the NUJ to get publsihed in your magazine or will the TWO magazine chapel allows it this time:augie

Many thanks.

My pleasure:D

Hey a chance to get your name in print...........

This is my opinion and I in no way represent the MOD's on this site - maybe they will have something to add

To be honest if you want to use this site to gather information for commercial (publication) use, then why not subscribe - A paltry fee, and you'll gain far more respect from the members here. Also a more representative approach to the 'prize' (or is that bribe) would also garner more interest from the members - i.e. offer something that would be of use to the GS riding fraternity.

BTW I will respond to your survey, as a realistic view of the GS will help others who are potentially considering one (which is what this site is all about). However please take these points on board as you will gain more respect from the mag buying population.

Cheers

i agree with you to a degree... the guy who posted from 2 Wheels seem to have just hit and run.. asked nothing in depth or joined in in any conversation regarding what they want/hoped to gain from the results.

It just seems to be setting out to be a very superficial article like a lot of others do on GS's hopefully I'll be wrong... no wonder nobody buys magazines any more if Journalists take the easy way out and skim over items ending up with a bland article with the same facts just like nearly every other one done on a GS.

Cmon now boys, why so hostile. The guy is asking for real owners to comment on the bike we know so well.
Its surely better to do that as opposed to the usual road test where they borrow a bike from a dealer ... spend a couple of days with it, and write an 'in depth' appraisal of a bike they have hardly ridden.

We need less of the selfish attitude shown to 'outsiders' who occasionally visit here from the bike press. Even though bike journalists are usually just assholes who have learned to wheely, they are human as well, and deserve to be treated with the respect given to any visitor.

Stop being so insular. Or we will turn into a club.

Thats my survey guaranteed to be read then !!
Size 60 lid please.

If the survey was about the 1100 then I for one would be more than happy to take part.. In my opinion the more people who learn about these bikes the better... too many (inclucing me for years) get too tied up with the tired old stereoutypes about BMWs - the more 'real world' opinions the better.

I remember the first reviews about the 1100 in 1994/95 - in retrospect 90% of what the journos had to say was complete nonsense.

I remember Chris Moss describing it as a 'hooligan bike' even now that makes me giggle.

Here's my flip side.

Someone's asking for something for free that they'll use for commercial gain with no mention of T&C's. In a similar vein, I don't send pics to news websites, as their T&C's mean they can use a free image world wide with no recompese to the originator.

You're right to disagree with me - everythings better once all the facts are in the open and good luck with the 'big lid' ;)

Why should we be materialistic - why can't we fill out surveys etc just for the sake of it and experience the results that we get. That's the problem with people nowadays - want want want, me me me :rob
What's wrong with Shark anyway? Not sure if I am small or medium so can I try on a couple before collecting my prize please :augie

why a survey on a model you don't own should concern you beats me completely.

Could it be because a survey on the 1150 varients wont throw up the multitudinous nightmare stories that a similar survey on the 1200s would? (course not)

Anyone who wants to reproduce anything of mine, photos or some of the brilliantly written social comments whatIwrite, can do so if they please.
It doesnt cost me anything.
I do not care if somebody makes money from it ...... as if !!!

Maybe if more things were done without financial gain in mind, the world would be a nicer place.

And just because I am a share dealer specializing in short selling it doesnt mean im not charitable.

Edit: feckoff Gordon. the helmets mine. I crawled first.
