How about posting up the spec & features of the Wilbers stuff?

Prices (pre-discount) and contact details would be a plus also. :blast

Wilbers Specs and Prices

All the Wilbers Shocks are fully rebuildable and come with a full 5 year warranty. Each shock comes with a rebound adjustment of 22 clicks. Wilbers has variable rate springs. These are not progressive springs but true variable rated springs. You have a choice of units at different prices - first there is the emulsion shock with spring pre-load and 22 - click rebound adjustment, at £345. next is the fully adjustable which has all the previous plus High/Low speed compression damping adjustment to give you total control, from £445. Shocks can be ordered with a hose or built in reservoir. Hydraulic Pre-load and Ride height adjustment are also options on most models.
You can specify your shocks in the Sportline - Blue spring and Red/Blue coloured adjusters or
Classic which has a black spring and Silver adjusters
Your Wilbers Suspension components will be built specifically for you, your riding style, and YOUR bike, not off the shelf items like other manufacturers. Expect around 3 weeks from the day the of order for delivery.
When you place your order, I will need the following info:-
Ride height:
Do you want your bike RAISED or LOWER than factory? We can do that! By how much? 10mm, 15mm, 25mm?
Hope this Helps!
Pete

Can't fault the product having just fitted front and rear sets to my Adventure. Very high levels of pre and post sales support from Wilbers in Germany and a very high quality product indeed.

What I don't understand Pete is why your quoted price of £345:00 for the basic unit is £54:00 more than Wilbers quote as a recommended price - follow the link off your own website to see what I mean.

I bought the front and rear unit with adjustable remote preload from Wilbers direct, delivered for a total of £657:00. From you guys this would have been £835:00 less 10% = £751:50.

I have no gripe with you guys at all but simply wish to point out to fellow site members that sometimes there is more to a deal than the discount quoted.

Get your prices in line and I'm sure you could do very good business here.

I can't believe my luck in seeing this post. I've just got in from a weekend at the Dutch GS meeting (which was great and I will run a separate post and pics on that but later). Anyway I have a R100GSPD with a Wilburs on the rar which hads been great untill I loaded it up with the Panniers full and tent/seleeping bag etc... lashed over the back. The bike wasbouncing around all over the place so I would up the tension on the spring (which was close to max as it was ) and also moved the small rinfg at the bottom of the unit abput 4 clicks clock wise. This appeared to make no difference... CAn you advise what the little adjustment wheel is at the bottom of the shock as I have no info on the Wilbers units.

Many thanks in advance.

Sounds like the rebound damping adjuster, clockwise to increase the rebound damping, anti-clockwise for the opposite effect.

Always a good idea to increase the pre-load on the spring when loading the back of the bike up, but the excessive bouncing you're getting is more likely insufficient rebound damping or a knackered shock.

Just had a chat to the guys at Revs Racing (wilbers.co.uk) and their prices look a lot better.

I was quoted for the 641 rear (the fully adjustable) and the 630 front, and it came out to £673.50 including delivery. They even offered to set them up for free as well. My local suspension specialist charges £85 for that, so it looks like a much better deal.

Just ordered the standard rear with hydraulic preload for mine. I'm hoping for a noticeable difference over the 35K old shock thats on now, especially as the rebound adjusters goosed :P

Looking at the specs again, I think that the better general setup would be to go for what you had, the more basic 640, but with the additional remote hydraulic preload, which works out to a similar price.

The 641 has low and high-speed rebound and compression damping, but still needs C spanners to set the preload. The 640 only has single rate rebound damping, but I reckon that would be more than adequate for most day-to-day riding, particularly since they take your weight and riding profile into account when they build them.

They're due to arrive in the next couple of days so I'll let you know what I reckon to them.

Nope, still not got it yet. Was quoted 2 weeks delivery but it would seem that was a bit optimistic :( Was hoping I'd have sussed out if it made much of a difference and whether or not to replace the front by now.
Just phoned every accessory and they're going to confirm the delivery date for me.

Ah.. “Revs Racing”… is that still Mr. John Gaskell of Halesowen?… Sidecar trialist… Beamish Suzuki..? If it is.. an absolute pleasure to deal with in the past on my various track bikes…:)

Not sure who I've spoken to TBH but they are in Halesowen. Seem friendly and helpfull enough, just a bit out on delivery times. It's going to be closer to 4 weeks now not the 2 I was quoted.

Got it

My rear shock landed today. Took a bit longer than expected but after a couple of hours blatting about I reckon it was worth the wait :thumb
If you want to know what i think have a look here

Delivery

Hi All,
Sorry about delivery times,
These vary greatly due to how busy Wilbers are, Times have increased over the last few weeks as they have been very busy with the racing season in Germany.
I always try to give accurate delivery dates and apologize again if I'm out!!!

Any more questions please don't hesitate to ask!
Pete
