Suspension options

My 1150 gsa is now on just under 40k i have done 18k or so of that in 18 or so months. The suspension is feeling a little off so looking at changing it .

Have done the searches on line and most of the threads are not recent so looking for some up to date guidance.

Looking at Tourtech, Manxton or Nitron. All about the same price . Manxton are the shortest delivery time and their rear have separate compression and rebound adjustment.

What are peoples thoughts / advice

Ohlins and Wilbers also make superb suspension.
I had Ohlins on my GSA in 2004 and Nitron on a subsequent one in 2016. Both transformed the bike. Ohlins had the edge...but was more spendy.
Don't be afraid of buying a well used 2nd hand pair...and then spending £300 or so getting them refreshed at T-Tech suspension (denzo on here) https://ttechsuspension.com/

Also consider having your bmw oe rear unit rebuilt/re-sprung by T-T. Significantly cheaper and should restore to as new if not better as tailored to you.

I was about to buy a used pair of TT ones but by the time i went to pick them up and factored in possible servicing spring swop they were a couple of hundred off a new set .

Considered Ohlins but they are saying at least five weeks for a rear so discounted that option .

I use the bike as a daily so cant really have it off the road , did ponder a used set and rebuild those. May revisit that .

OE front can’t be rebuilt apparently. Perhaps better to have a full replacement set ready to get the job done in one go.

Id bide your time and buy 2nd hand, get em refurbished and then install without anytime off road and way cheaper than new. Advertise a wanted ad on here...you never know

Expensive way if you ride progressively, get the aftermarket ones.

If you ride normal refurb OEM. Contact Denz0 from here he has rebuilt my 1200 and 1150 adv and they are brilliant. Ask him has he a set of OEM he can rebuild,otherwise buy a 2nd hand set and send to him as was already suggested.
My OEM on both bikes once overhauled and respecced are well able to cope with whatever I throw at them.

I hopped the sh*te out of my 1200's going off road with that twat Hatcho this Summer in Italy and was full sure they'd be f***ed afterwards considering I hadn't a clue what I was doing and I'm a fat bar steward.
They are still perfect which goes to show Denz0's work is top notch

I got a Protech front shock on my r1100gs Ive been very impressed for the price, i dont do off road just the occasional light trail but its been spot on for the price, i have a Wilber's for the rear that was fully re built, but Yeah i second the Protech approach Ohlins im sure would be better by comparison but depends what your using it for.
