Hi all, got a new bike a couple of months back, (GSA 1200) well new to me and I want to get my suspension set up correctly for a loaded bike, panniers, top box, luggage and a big lad. I am in Aberdeenshire, inverurie to be exact, can anyone recommend someone they have used before?
thanks in advance

When you say set up, do you mean changing shocks (wilbers/ohlins) or just setting up the standard gear? I use Tom Adamson in Elgin for my general bike stuff (although my local BMW dealer for my big bike is HF in Inverness - I'm just outside Elgin), give Tom a call on 01343 550600 and he'll keep you right with whichever you choose - he's an honest chap! I'm not aware of too many other bike specialists in the NE :-(

Nice One Andy, it's just set up the general stuff, I hope , but would like it al checked out
I'll give him a call tomorrow
Much appreciated
Cheers

No problemo, HF are doing a rideout to Kyle etc. on Sunday if you're after a run out? Lunch is included (for free :-) ) and it's a pretty good craic, they ahd about 30 or so riders last time out but there's a variety of standards/speeds/mentalities and I wasn't bored by any means sticking with the progressive boys (...) assuming your set up is rideable as it is ;-)

Andy

PM me if you want to go and I'll ping you the contact details of the HF boys to get your name down.

Cheers, would be great but the old dears birthday on Sunday otherwise I'd be up for it, just back from a week around Dornie and Skye.
Would be great if you could drop me a line the next time :)

Press and hold the ESA button for a few seconds then cycle through different weight settings.

Will do, am quite often over your way, one of my fave routes is the run from Banff through Huntly to Tomintoul round to Grantown then home via Forres over the Dava.

HF do two main runs a year I think but there may be a third... will let you know, there's a few locals on here.

Nice one Andy, great run been on that route a few times, PM me the next time your this way

The non esa suspension is farly basic ,
pre load front and rear and damping at the rear,
Firmer springs were fitted from october built bikes in 2014,
If you want to adjust it yourself its not a difficult job to adjust the sag settings to suit you,
As thats about it with a tweak of the rear damping, you may have allready done this,
Roamer

As long as you have the sag at approx 1/3 overall travel with you on fully kitted,
That it without resorting to aftermarket shocks,
I went for ohlins non esa on my gs lc , it made a noteable difference over stock,
