Suspension Settings

Thought it would be a good idea to use this thread as a source of info. for those peeps after info on suspension settings so feel free to post away with any useful info. but try and keep it clear of chat, link from/to other threads if needed

I'll start

Rider weight:
Including kit 89kg
Passenger weight including kit 85kg
Max luggage weight 45kg

Riding type:
50% Rider only, fast roads.
25% Rider and passenger.
25% Rider, passenger and luggage.

Shocks:
Wilbers 630 front (standard height)
Wilbers 641 rear with remote preload (standard height)

Settings as supplied (not, so far, altered):
Front
Rebound 14 clicks
Preload 15mm

Rear
Rebound 16 clicks
Compression, low speed (blue) 14 clicks
Compresion, high speed (red) 14 clicks
Preload 13mm

Rider sag (difference between suspension unloaded and suspension loaded with rider on board)
Front 40mm
Rear 70mm

Yup

you'll need to say which spring is fitted.

Just had a quick ganders and can't see anything stamped on the springs (may be on the 'hidden' side ) and there's no mention on the paper work.

Springs were spec'd by EA to be appropriate for the weight/riding styles given

there's usually a number printed on the spring somewhere. it's the spring rate in Newton Metres.

as you are not of the typical "well nourished" GSer build, i'd guess you just had stock spring

sadly i can't remember what the stock spring rate is.

Rear - Ohlins 46PRCQS, 180Nm spring, custom valving
Rebound - clicks
Compression - 8 clicks
Preload - 5.5 turns

Can't see what the front is as it must be stamped on the 'hidden' side
