Get yourself down to the hograost next w/e - theres an off road ride on Sat.

Plus join the TRF and hook up with your local lot. £30 to join and they do a good job of fighting to keep byways open for us to enjoy. Good bunch too.

www.leisuretrail.co.uk - good place to start for DRZ bits you may need.

Now fancy some Super Motor wheels for it? I have some for sale - some scrote nicked my DRZ.

Cheers for the info, will join the local TRF bunch !
What are wheels like and how much?
ta:)

SM wheels totally transformed the riding experience on my DRZ.
It's absolute bonkers! :thumb2

I picked up a set of Morad rimmed wheels with Talon hubs that didn't sell on eBay but I left my details & did a deal for £400. Wheels, spacers, sprocket, discs & new tyres.

They fitted OK but try to buy hubs that are DRZ specific, that way you can swap any parts straight over. My hubs are made for a Husqvarna & I didn't find out until I sussed the mountings are different for the sproks & discs. A quick call to Talon sourced a sprocket no problem.
No speedo drive on the front wheel (I use a GPS for a speedo) but Talon do hubs with & without speedo drives, look out for that.

A friend gave me his SM mudguard to complete the look.

My Latest Campervan Bike

I got this 2007 DR-Z400SM from Jim Elderfield last week. Been looking for a light fun bike for a while which allows me to touch the ground. It has to sit on an Easy Lifter bike carrier on the back of my small campervan so can not be too heavy, and this fits the bill. I previously used a Honda XR 125, which was fine, but a little underpowered and will now have to go.

Have fitted a carrier for a Givi box and also a lowering kit(55mm lower at the seat) to allow my 27ish inside leg to reach the ground. Althought the justification for buying was as a van bike, I expect to get a lot of fun using it at home, and a break from the 1200GS.

The bike seems well looked after by Jim and I'm looking forward to getting better acquainted with it. Looks nice in black me thinks!(Using Jim's picture)

DR

My 350, had this coming up for 4 years now so thought i'd stick it in here.

97, 3rd owner from new, all original paperwork from first owner onwards pdi, service history etc, low mileage (only kick about locally on it usually ) CRD bash plate and din power socket up to Renthal bars. Ready for a battery soon though, Yuasa fitted - anyone give me the equivalent number for a Motobatt.
Have to give Greg a shout soon and replace the chain as well - leave it over winter though

Taken back in the woods on a trail where it all started for me using a TS185 in 1977 - used to push it there from home

bought another one (off this site again) '98 DRZ400s

very pleased

Although I am 5' 11" I have just fitted some lowering links.

makes the bike far more useful to me

Just waiting for some deep snow now :thumb
