Folks,
This is my mates bike and he’s asked me if I could show it to the UKGSER clan.
I can vouch for the bike, it’s spot on and in lovely condition.
I’m not a Suzuki expert by any means, but I can pass on any messages to Paul.
Or better still, if interested just text him on his number at the bottom of the add.

This is his add….

I am selling my 1977 Suzuki GT750B.

I purchased it as a non running “barn find” in 2019 from Classic Bike Imports Ltd who had imported it from Canada, pretty much complete. It had 8739 miles on the clock along with original fitment tyres, albeit well worn. I suspect the mileage was accurate. I kept a copy of the original Canadian Title document.

Over the next year, it was totally stripped down and restored, retaining as much of the original parts as practical. I have photos of the mouse nest in the airbox and the corn extracted from one of the exhausts. It clearly had lived in a barn.

The engine was rebuilt by Howard Evans Classic Restorations with the crank being refurbished at Grampian Engineering and a new water pump fitted. Forks were refurbished by Philpots. Frame was painted and a number of parts re-chromed. Accent electronic ignition fitted along with an electronic rectifier/regulator. Replacement petrol tank fitted along with new tyres, brakes battery etc. As per the UK spec version, I fitted amber reflectors (rather than the Canadian/USA red) along with the “Pass” headlamp flash switch gear.

Bike registered in the UK in July 2020 and been ridden since.

Since being back on the road, the Rectifier/Regulator has been replaced (fitting error on my part caused a failure), Battery replaced (not being used enough), Anti surge jets fitted to resolve low speed running issue (transformed it when pottering through villages).

The bike has now covered 11000 miles in total and is very reliable. I have used it on trips away including a week touring Scotland and the Inner Hebrides, where it behaved impeccably.

As a youth, I always wanted one of these and now that itch has been scratched, it’s time to move on. I am confident that this bike will be enjoyed by the next owner, as much as I have enjoyed both the experience of restoring it and the fun of riding it. I have spent an absolute fortune along the way, but it was never about investment, it was nostalgia, and I don’t regret a moment.

I’m based in North Lincolnshire (UK) and asking £9000 for this honest example of a classic.

In the words of Mrs Brown, “Thats Nice!”
Thanks Adrian S, it is, really nice.
He sent me a video to post so folk can hear it running, but I’m struggling to load it.
Can anyone offer advice re loading his video?
Will this page take video?

Can’t help you with loading a video - I’m sure someone will be along soon to help!

Oddly enough I was standing next to one a couple of days ago - in the local bike shop.

Amazing to think that these bikes are approaching fifty years old

Jesus - framing it in those words has just given me a moment 😱, how did all those years fit in between my memories of sitting outside the pub listening to the cooling down pings from it’s header pipes alongside air cooled bikes of mates after a thrashing, and now sitting here looking at the pictures.

Looks great - GLWS 👍

Lovely looking bike and whoever buys it won’t be disappointed.
I had a 74 blue L and 77 black B back in the day and bought an A in bits a couple of years ago. This spurs me on to finishing it.
I always remember how nice they were to ride, not a screaming two stroke at all if you don’t want it to be.

I started with a 250 Hustler in 1973,passed my test and changed that for a T500,then swapped that in for a GT750 which I rode to Wales and Cornwall in the long hot summer of 1976,loved the 750,another bike I wish I could've kept

I remember the summer of 1978 as I started my Suzuki apprenticeship at Arthur Hicklin motorcycles, off Lark Lane in Liverpool.

Uncrating and PDI the partially knocked down GT750s was always good fun, but i recall they would hang around the yard for some time because everyone wanted the recently launched GS750 four-stroke.

Interesting that the early GS four-strokes are largely forgotten but the kettle enjoys iconic status.
