:nenau Is it me? Where in the tool kit is the device for getting fasteners out of a 1200gs?:eek There hexagonal heads!!(new to gs's me!) Trying to fit engine bars and have got to go and get the right tools to fit them. Bought the bike and am i right in thinking there is something missing from the tool kit? It seems a bit sparse.
Also anyone got pic of bars fitted, just so i'm convinced thats where they go.
Hondas were so easy:o

Torx T55, T25, and T20 from memory. Nip down the local tool shop and get a full set, you'll need them at some stage anyways. And the 3 bits in the "toolkit" is standard. You've got BMW Assist Recovery, don't ya know :thumb2

"C" shaped bar goes across in front of the engine at the top, bar with the bit sticking out the side goes under the front bashplate mountings, and the bottom of the main bars is the bit with the angled mounting flange which matches the angle on the bashplate mounted bar.

They be called "Torx" head bolts and you'll need a size 55 'bit' to fit the big 'un beside the gear box.

Run a search and you'll get loads of info on fitting plus piccies :thumb2

Must say that I think the SW crash bars are ace:thumb
They took must of the impact from my accident last W/E and definately saved the L/H cylinder. Its doubtfull wether the BMW ones would have provided the same level of protection.

They are dead easy tofit and superb value for money/
