Wanted SW Motech fitting help?

I’ve acquired. Pro tank bag ring TRT.00.787.900.05 I’ve contacted SW Motech and I’m not sure if they are being deliberately awkward or it’s an automatic response system but they aren’t being forthcoming as to what this fits.
I bought it to fit a bmw micro bag but as it’s a Pro it doesn’t and now I’m not even sure what it’s for. The perils of marketplace…
Hopefully someone here can shed light on this as Google isn’t really helping either…

Very helpful last year getting some parts to me quickly just before a trip and ensuring they were the correct parts

What was it sold as fitting?

There are 2 parts.....the metal base that fixes on the tank (Specific) and the upper magnetic section that fits to that for the pro bags....there are different SW Bag ranges and the tank fittings don't cross over I think

I'm not sure SW Motech fittings are compatable with BMW tank bags

is there a BMW part no. on the bag? This is your best bet for finding the correct fitting kit.

your tank ring is for this type of bag https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/543224?glCountry=GB which is what I use on my V85.

I have no idea if BMW use SWM fitments. The Pro fitment system is relatively new and there have been previous versions of the quick release systems.

I believe you need the ‘Pro’ ring for all the Pro bags. The easiest way is to go on their website and find your bag and it’ll tell you the ring you need.
I’m away from home right now, but might have a spare Pro ring for my R9T. I bought the mini Legend bag and it’s as much use as an ashtray on a bike - so I bought the bigger one………..and might have a spare. If you can wait a few days, I’ll check when home.

The Pro tank rings have the magnetic fixing in them, they only work with the pro tank bags, as far as I know.
