SW Motech Quick Lock Engage

I know a couple of people that have them and haven't anything adverse to say about them.

On the smaller bags, however - the bag sits proud of the tank and I wonder if leaning on the bag puts an additional strain on the mount?

Alternative to that is the Famsa bag/harness system?

I've been using one for almost a year now and am well pleased with it. The tank bag side of the mount is supplied loose, giving a large adjustment range to fit it to individual bikes' tanks, so it can be made to fit any tank. The only thing I think that I'm not so keen on with the "Engage" is the opening, which is rather small. I also have the small daypack-sized tank bag, which is expandable (The Engage isn't) and can be fully opened. However, it won't accept the separately available map case. Bags Connection/SW Motech have recently released some new, larger tank bags that have better/more features than the older ones that I have.

For some "in-use" pics, a few are here:

Thanks Dave, had a look at bags connection but still might go for the engage.
Nice pics as well.
Cheers,

Hi Bob,

Bags Connection are the manufacturers for all of the tankbags we're talking about, including the "Engage". Here in Germany, they're badged "SW-Motech", "Bags Connection" or "Polo" (who are one of the leading "chain" dealers here for accessories.

Please let me know if you need any more info....

There's quite a bit of flexibility allowed with the mounting, therefore you can move the tankbag fore and aft to allow for crossbraces etc. I have mine mounted reasonably well back, meaning there's no fouling, even on full lock. In addition, since the bag sits proud of the tank, the bars pass more or less under the tank bag. The smallest day pack will for sure work with a cross brace, but is only about 7 litres capacity. I'd recommend going to the nearest Polo and trying one out (at least the lining up on the tank) before committing yourself. If you need any dimensions measuring, let me know!

I bought the Engage bag before going round Europe last summer. I didn't want a large tank bag - just somewhere to fit passport, wallet, sunglasses and waterproof trousers etc... It did all this without any issue and was really easy to take off and carry around when stopping in towns etc... The extra map pocket is large and first-class - can easily fit a well folded standard map with good coverage (no need to keep re-folding). Top kit if you (like me) don't like travelling with large tank bags.
