SW-Motech rack

I'm considering buying the SW-Motech rack to be used with the ortlieb soft luggage. But I see in the installation manual that on is supposed to use an extension that follows to move the blinkers farther back. Is this really necessary? Doesn't seem that this is needed on the touratech racks for example. I have the LED blinkers by the way. Does any one have any experience with the SW-Motech racks?

Don't think this guy needed them and BMW OEM LED's sit further back than bulb ones anyway...

I have the Sw moteck quick lock rack on my 650 twin, I have not moved the indicators back with the kit supplied, I think having led indicators they are bright enough, I have the hepco and becker junior enduro hard luggage and have not had any problems.

I have the rack as well on my 800gs and i didnt need to move the indicators and i`ve got fecking big ally boxes on as well.(came off a 1150gs)

I've got the 650GS with LEDs and soft luggage. Didn't bother with the conversion and haven't had any problems.

SW Motech Q/R rack with huge Trax boxes... no need to move indicators.

I have the SW-Motech rack fitted to my bike and the indicators did not have to be moved.

Are those the Alpos cases?I have those on mine and it`s as wide as a bloody bus.Get lots of gear in them but forget about filtering.Also when i went on to the fast cat to Cherbourg i couldnt get into the bike lane at the side of the boat I`m looking to get some Peli cases to try out.
