Hi All

Fitted these today in readiness for a trip to Italy in few weeks - Thought they look quite well and they seem well made. Quick release rails also mean you can take them off in 2 mins....

Looks really nice, I was going to go for these (in black) but in the end I went for the original BMW panniers. The BMW ones were slightly cheaper and as I use the GS everyday the fact that the panniers are expandable/retractable appeal to me more than Trax.

but look wise, I prefer the your choice. what am i doing arrrgh

Thank you. Any idea of the overall width of the whole system?

My guess is some where around the 100cm mark....I've taken them off and packed away for the moment but have measured everything separately.
100cm seems to be the ball park figure. Next time they are fitted I will measure them more accurately.

Cheers

Mick

Hi Mick,

Did you get around to measuring the width of the panniers when mounted on the bike? I'm thinking of getting the same set up, not sure whether to go for 2 of the smaller size panniers though, has anyone else done that?

Thanks,
Paul

Looking good there, I had a set of Trax on my Tiger 1050 and they where great, never had any issues and then when I sold the Tiger, I got 2/3rds of my money back for them. Top Banana.

With the frames being removable, is there much movement or rattling once the frames/full boxes are fitted??

Trax

Yes the 1/4 turn fasteners are rock solid . The rails come off the bike in less than a few minutes so you can have it back to normal in no time.
The only thing after a couple of thousand miles was the locks needed some serious lube. Would I buy the same again ?.....Yes I'm pretty sure I would although there is more choice now. Holan look good, as do givi outback trekkers. I suppose cost also has to be a consideration too but I use mine maybe twice or three times a year and the trax can't be faulted really. :beerjug:

I have these in alu on my 13 GSW, love them. I leave the removable frames on at all times as some added crash protection although they are not as well fixed as a permanent pannier frame solution.

Got my new shiny Trax Evo top box today. The mail has seperated the shipment, so side cases and rack ++ will be here tomorrow.

WOW, this stuff looks SO much better than the Hepco & Becker I had on my 2007 GS!

Now just the snow can go away so I can get the bike home from the dealers...
