Swapping Anakees for Tourances? And rear only?

Hi All

My rear is down to 1.7-ish mm and needs replacing. My front is at 3mm, I currently have Michelin Anakees and would like to try Metzeler Tourances, and the chap on the phone from Micheldever Tyres says I should swap that too, so as to have the same brand front and rear.

I noted down the Anakee's "150/70 R17" before setting off for work, and then was vexed to find that the Tourances come in two speed ratings, "H" and "V", so I'm not sure which to get.

Can anyone please comment regarding matching the front and back tyres, and what the speed rating of a Tourance on a 12GS should be, please?

Thanks!

It's not an unreasonable judgement call to replace tyres at 2-3mm IMHO.

So I'd replace both and not worry about different manufacturers on each end.

2500km after picking a brand new Anakee equiped 12, we succeeded in picking up a nail in the rear hoop :spitfire . The shop only had Tourance so that was what they fitted - they said it would be OK and it was. :clap

We changed after 16000km but both would have done a couple of thou more but prices in mainland europe are sooo much cheaper then here.........
