It appears that metzeler are bring out a new version, with more road bias than the older version, so at the mo' stocks of the classic version are running down, if not already out!
which is good that they are updating them,

But the new one is VERY road orientated, so where some off road ability is needed, what tyre is the option now?

.but I really liked the classic version, good mileage wear rate, good in wet and dry conditions, on road and off (well, up to a point, anyway!)

cheers lads and lasses:thumb

Dear Colin,

Simon Cardinali has asked me to respond to your e mail.

Firstly, just to clear any confusuion up regarding Tourance. We have just launched a Tourance EXP which is all new in design. New carcass, new compound and more street orientated tread pattern. This tyre will not replace the existing Tourance due to its huge popularity, but is in addition. The Tourance EXP is an improvement in every area of performance. EXP will be available in 110/80 VR19 front and 150/70 VR17 rear.

All new zero degree steel belted front tyre : Genuine Sport Touring performance and technology for an Adventure Sports bike.
New tread pattern: more compact and continuous in order to increase stability and safety feeling
New developed compound improving wet behavior and maintaining Tourance mileage performance
EXP will be available from early July 2007

Kind Regards,

If they could just ship some normal Tourances to the North East, have been told that no one can get there hands on them for love nor money and they can't tell when the next batch are coming in to the country..! Have been told it could be 6 weeks..!

Bleeding awful tyres, IMHO. Don't put them near white lines.

2 wheeled Chelsea Tractors should be shod accordingly..
