Swingarm protection

On none of my 4 GSes have my boots ever scratched the cardan tunnel - this is just bling isn't it? :)

I don't have particular big feet - but have rubbed through the swing arm.
It shocks me that on a bike designed for big blokes there is sod-all room for your feet !

I normally ride a GS with my instep on the pegs and feet pointing forwards, this means that I do not have to shift my feet when using the rear brake or changing gear - occasionally ride with my toes on the pegs when I need every bit of lean angle :) - size 9 UK boots - paint is mark free???............

My size 11's, normally wearing Daytona boots has rubbed the paint off the frame or swing arm of all three 1200s I've had

Perhaps size 9s and under are safe then? - have worn BMW gravel boots or equivalent style for 11 years, Sidi Deep Rain now and not one bit of damaged paint - must be a size thing.

My Daytona size 9's rubbed the paint on my last GSA, and started to rub it on this one. Is it a Daytona thing?

No, it's a shit BMW paint thing .... :D

Yep, these should help

it would have been cheaper to change those clown boots you have been wearing nutty, its starting to look like a triple rainbow with those rusty coloured pegs and gear lever, tin exhaust guard and hooooge black heel guards. :P

The guards wouldn't go with my gorgeous akro carbon exhaust guard anyway :comfort

No scuff marks. Must be doing something wrong

The heat shield will be powder coated with the pillion hangers.;)

Do you have a price for the powder coating?

One company has quoted £100 to do both footrest hangers and the heat shield, but said that I'd need to get the parts shot blasted before they'd touch them. That seems high, so I'll have a call around later.

bling option

Thought I'd post this up, as I was looking for something to protect the swingarm from my boots, and thanks to Ding Dong's recommendation have found a great product.:beerjug:

It's called Eazi Grip Pro. It's a tank grip, but you can buy it in sheets, then cut to size. It's very thick, but if you heat it up with a hairdryer it becomes softer and easier to work with. Heat it again once it's applied, and it should stay put.

Looks good Rich... But HTF did you purchase the Pro sheets from their website? It could be me but i can't see anywhere on their site that actually gives you the option of buying the pro sheets, tank protection and clear paint protection yes but no option to buy the pro stuff???
