Going to be adding a centech ap1 fuse panel but wanted to have the ability to choose between 'always on' and 'ignition switched' power, a facility built in to the more expensive centech AP2 and the 'fuzeblock' product. Im not sure yet what I would need to power with ignition off but i would rather have the option than not if the need arises.

I have come up with the following, using a switch fitted to a cutout in the fuse box, which can be reached from the side without removing anything from the bike. The feed for the relay will be switchable using 'add a circuit' piggy back fuse inserts from F3 (always hot) and F7 (ignition switched).

Im not very experienced with auto electrics so is there anything im not considering?

Looks ok,
you could use an electronic charging relay that senses battery voltage used for towing caravans etc rated 30a,
with very little aditional current draw and small size, unless you are drawing more amps, considering alternator load/output,
the switch on threshold is adjustable which would automatically protect battery drain below start voltage and auto switch on / cut off,
I have used these for lots of additional power supply applications from auxiliary battery, DRLs permanent on, auxiliary sockets, instead of a relay , and tidy with less joints,
Just a thought,
Roamer,

cheers roamer - manually switching really just in case i ever need it (ie power aux lights to set up camp, feed to a locked pannier to charge a device overnight, keep sat nav alive during fuel/lunch stops etc). It will likely spend 99.9% of its time in the 'ignition switched' position.

I do like your idea of the voltage sensing relay but not really required for this application I think. theres only a few extra connections and im comfortable making them.
