Need some advice on a bit of electrickery I want to do.
Firstly am I right in thinking there are only 2 switched 12v 5amp supplys on my 2005 GS? The hella one under the seat and the one on the left on the head stock.
I have 2 x 12v cig lighter sockets up front (one for heated vest the other has a 2 port 5v USB adapter in it ) and 5v 2amp phone charger mount connected to the hella socket.
My Zumo 660 is connected to the head stock supply.
What I now want to do is connect a 5v front and rear C6 dash cam set up with a loop recording and GPS function.
It's easier for me to tap into the hella socket supply but would that overload it? Or should I do the more difficult thing and splice into the Sat Nav feed?

TIA.

Get a busbar fuse box and supply it direct from the battery with a relay. Switch the relay from a convenient ignition switched live. The front CanBus switched satnav connector is ideal.

Hella socket gives 5 amps appx iirc so a heated jacket pretty much takes all of that I'd be inclined to power that from the battery with it's own fuse I had a cigar lighter socket mounted on the frame for that purpose.

Decided to splice into sat nav feed. And I've been educated with regards to Ohms law so 5amps at 12v give 60watts and I'm well below that.
Gonna get a dedicated 12v socket fused off the battery for the heated vest later in the year though.
