Has anyone taken a feed for their GPS from a switched source on an 1150 GSA? Someone mentioned the parking/sidelight - I've got a Powerlink iPhone harness that hooks up to the battery but I'm worried the attenuator will leach power from the battery if I hardwire it directly...

Hi, best thing is to use the feed for the rear light, probably easiest to take the tank off, this is what I did and I think recommended on here.
You can then get into the fuse box easier and find your feed there, either by drawing or testing.

For low current requirements (twat nav etc), it is easiest to piggy back from the front lights. They are not permanently 'on' and are fused.

I went for the side light option.
In your local auto factors, you can obtain the 1/4" piggy back connectors. These will be a female and two males (spades).

Fit 2 female 1/4'' terminals - one each to the wires within the doo-dad's power cable.

Check polarity. When happy, connect away.

Leave some slack for handle bar movement (obviously).

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll chance my arm (or at least my twatnav) on the sidelights option. Will post pics of elegant solution/toasted iPhone depending on how I get on... :aidan
