Guys,

Can you help me with some feedback about brackets and switches for mounting aux lights?

Is the Migsel bracket the one to go for?( i see there are a few to choose from) I have some Hella micro's on their way to me but need to sort the mounting bracket and also the wiring setup for my 1150adv.

I like the switch you can get on the 1200adv that sits on the top of the risers, but when asking woolleston's today the price is £ 50 for the switch and £6 for the switch holder

Can anyone show me what they have done? I dont really want to use a switch mod on the indicator cancel, as I like to have a seperate switch, but don't want it to look like a heath robinson effort ( like touratech supply)

Is there a wiring diagram out there?

Also I'm thinking of having the lads in the fab shop knock me up some TT style hella light protectors, unless someone can supply me some?

Help me out guys

cheers

Migsel and Autoswitch

Each to his own, but I prefer the Migsel light bar, it moves the DEs a bit further away from the centre-line of the bike, making adjustment easier and is a really tasty bit of kit... see here

Then a Nippy Normans' Autoswitch, which is simply wired into the loom under the fuse-box (do a search on here, there's plenty of threads covering it!). This means you use the indicator cancel button to switch the aux lights on/off (holding it for longer than necessary to cancel your indicators). No need for extra switches cluttering up your dash... See here

But you pays your money, etc...

Just replace your dipped beam with a HID and you won't need all this extra gubbins.

Why not?
S'cuse my ignorance Twotter, I'm new here. I road my GS1200 home in the dark after picking it up yesterday and one of the things I was thinking about was some extra lighting as I was coming through the lanes near home.

The HID will give a lot more light, and there's a zillion threads on her extolling their virtues... try a Search for HID DIP and see what you get...

I still like the extra lights as well... HID'd or not...

Les Wassall

Hi

I could do with one of those on/off switches. I noted the "bikeit" wrapper, but the site appears to be trade only. Can you supply that switch?

Cheers...:)

Im fitting fogs, I have already agreed with Les to do HID for me

You will not be disappointed :thumb

Get the main and dipped done also and you'll never need anymore lighting even if the world goes into total darkness forever.

Let me know when your having them fitted, I might have to pop round and help out (free bacon butty!!!!). Unfortunately Les takes a couple of hours longer if I go, but he won't mind :augie:augie:augie
