Switching headlight off?

Is there an easy way of switching off/disconnecting the headlight on my 2009 GSA?

Just been reading through the joining instructions for my Hopp track day at Cadwell on Thursday. They ask for headlight to be disconnected or taped up. Is there a plug I can simply pull out?

Unplug the headlight bulb will turn it off

So to turn it back on, is it ignition off + ignition on?

That works as long as the bike stays stationary - I doubt that's the intention on a track day. As soon as the bike moves the lamp will come on again.

Undo the rear plastic cover to the dipped beam light and pull off the connector.

Lights stay off on the GS's (for off-roading?), re-set by turning ignition off and back on again, they come back on as soon as you move on RTs.

Not on my '08 GSA, as soon as the bike's moved, the headlamp relights

Worked on every GS I've had 1150 and 1200. Engine off and on resets. Never had a GSA mind ��

just disconnect the multiplug on the back of the headlamp assy

Is that the main one with the wire clip. keep an eye on where it goes if it pings off

Attach a string or wire to the clip so it can't get lost.

Disconnect the bottom plug, one just under the light caps, next to the lens adjuster, leave the one back of the clocks connected.

Tried the technique if holding the indicator/cancel button but as soon as I move forward the headlight comes back on.

So, unscrew the plastic cap and pull the lead out?

Yep, that's as on mine. Unscrew the rear plastic cap (it unscrews anti clockwise and may be stiff as there's a rubber seal there as well). Disconnect the connector on the back of the bulb - cover in insulating tape if you're at all nervous but I wouldn't bother. Replace rear cap and enjoy the trackday.
