Not the best of experiences today:

K1600 booked in for the annual service and MOT three weeks ago, specifically for a date when the had a loan bike. Arrived this morning - no MOT booked and nothing on the file about a loan bike.

Two and a half hours sitting drinking very average coffee and looking at fugly 1300s and RT in their showroom ensued.

That would be the very last time I’d be going there they’d done that to me.

How completely unprofessional of a main dealer to act like that. :blast
Zero excuses. Just proves they don’t value customers.

I'm booking my annual, mot and new tyres with them. I have used them for a few years now and have had a good experience. James on the desk has always been brilliant .

Hopefully your experience was a one off.

They are a shower of shit, tried to buy an RT1200 from them, couldn't be bothered to call me when they had some in the shop(2nd hand)Bought from Bath motorcycles instead.December last year, they had a GS1250 I wanted, wouldn't take a deposit and hold it till January when I got back from Portugal(would have been 3 weeks)Ended up buying me GSA1250 from Vines Guildford without any issue.
To top it off, tried to book 6k service via the Motorrad booking system and have heard nothing in 3 weeks.Thursday I booked again via the Motorrad app with Vines, got a call in the afternoon, booked in on the 23rd-fantastic service.
Sycamore won't get another penny if I can help it(they are the nearest to me)

I guess mistakes can happen. I've only used their Peterborough outlet - service & return of bike were precisely to the time slot agreed. Equally, I found their sales & delivery team thoroughly efficient. Whilst they always needed 3/4 weeks notice in the Summer, the service arrangements were always confirmed in detail by email.

Always best to avoid the loan bike scenario if possible, IMHO. The return schedule from previous customers can so easily get backed up - something I experienced with Vines with my first K1600 GT. Kicking your heels for hours around the delights of Guildford is no fun when you were expecting to be thrashing a loaner around the Surrey lanes.

Hi Charlie, I decided to use Ethan at Lawshall for my annual service on the 1300GS, sited at the old Reiten premises and the service i received was excellent. Very competitive and free loan bike RS1200 which I didn’t use in the end as i just sat back and made myself an instant coffee and relaxed. Also used them for new tyres a few weeks back and again excellent.
He had several 1600’s awaiting various repairs and seems well versed in the range. I paid £220 for my service which was a lot less than the main dealer quoted and the lead time was better. Shame Reiten are no longer around.
Also there’s a great farm shop within walking distance, but closed on Mondays of course!

Thanks Brian - now that my service plan has finised, I'll certainly consider them in future!

The lot in Alton sent a text to confirm service or MOT, a second text a day or two before the service as a reminder. I thought every dealer uses this system.

I guess mistakes can happen......
They can....but these are absolute basics that every dealer should know how to get right. The MOT not being pre-booked is one thing....no loan bike quite another. They managed to get 1 out of 3 right.... That's piss poor
