I've often heard of folks recommending this but have never seen it.
Any one know who makes it, what grade and where you can get it.

More to the point, is it really worth it/what diffference does it make?

I've got an early 1100 gearbox, so thought it might help it 'age' with more dignity.

Thanks

I have been using fully sythetic in the gear box and final drive for a few years now. (It's the same oil in both) I remember when I made the switch that things did seem to feel better but that may have just been mind over matter. Anyway - lots of places do synthetic gear box oil . You need to look for the following:
SAE 75w/90 API GL5 specification and make sure it is fully synthetic not semi-synthetic. My 1100 is approaching 90,000km now since new and this oil seems to help it age gracefully ;)

There are plenty of synthetic gear oils on the market but they tend to be 75w-90 as opposed to 80w-90's

Cheers
Simon

This is a subject long debated in these halls, but the concensus seemed to be Castrol GPS for the engine, and Castrol MTX for the transmission and gearbox. Look here for ordering info.
