dont waste your £££ put cheap stuff in and if youre worried change it more often.

Putoline recommend 20w/50 semi. They know more about oil than most.
I ran a fully for a short time and it started burning it. Happy on the semi now

And the meaning of this is????

Asking questions about oil can be very controversial usually resulting in lots of piss taking and abuse.

I can never resist mocking those who use 'Motorcycle oil' in these bikes (as a for instance)

If you have an ordinary car then it's simplest to use the same oil.

No offence intended, it's just the dreaded oil question, and some on here can be a bit parochial about it. Personally I use a semi-synth and change it yearly. That can be anything between 4-8,000 miles. Works for me.

Ok guys thanks for the info, i'll wait for tarka to read this and reply otherwise i'll PM him.

Why not?? i PM'd him yesterday regarding an engine noise and he had no problem with it!!

I know that a BMW doesn't require motorcycle oil as it has a dry clutch, but when St Eptoe serviced my bike, Rock Oil 20/50 is what he uses and if it's good enough for him, then it's good enough for me!

(Mind you, Morris Lubricants also a good range of 20/50 oils too.)
