Hi all,
I bought a new system 5 couple of weeks ago from BmW, tried it on in the shop, same size as my other bmw helmet, all was well.

On way home, still all well, but now after a few weeks, the dam thing gives me a headache right across my forehead.

Its become uncomfortable, has anyone else come across this, and solved it?, if not im gona sell it.
size 58/59 black.

Take it back, tell them the problem, they will swap it for you.

i wish it worked like that. Not a hope, as Astle wouldnt be able to sell it on as
its now second hand, and i did try it on in the shop.
I guess your new to bmw and their dealers then?:mmmm

You need to put your head on a diet, I find that not thinking too much for a week is enough to alleviate a tight helmet...ooh er

in all seriousness i thought of that.

Head diet,= haircut:augie

Mine did the same....I solved the problem by pushing the foam a very small amount with my thumbs at the front to solve it. It only needed a very small amount of pressure to get it to stop giving me grief. I also used a spoon and pressed it hard on the foam bit around the forehead part to give approx 1 mm :nenau of extra slack on the pain area which worked ...Such a small amount it wont comprimise the safety i think as the foam is quite thick

Don't think any dealer would exchange a 2nd hand helmet :comfort

BTW I've used the easing of the foam on a few helmets, and as has been said, a small amount makes a big difference.

I had exactly the same problem with my System 5.

It has become comfortable with repeated use.

Maybe you need to persevere with it a bit longer ??:nenau

relax - mine was the same to start with too, but before long it seemed to have moulded itself to my bonce and it feels good now.

I've been pretty pleased with my system 5, but have been told I look a bit of a :censor: with the chinguard up

thanks guys, will try the spoon method

before my head :anger

I just thought it was a way of passing the headache onto someone else.

There has been a problem with some system 5's, nothing to do with fit, try telling them its lose on the inside, a good dealer would be able to send it back as faulty.

Try nicking the kids football, deflate a bit, push in helmet, blow up, leave for a week, sorted.

Or take your ear plugs out. The noise will make you forget about the headache.

Or take the screen off. The wind will push the helmet off you forehead.

Seriously, it will get better, try a bit longer before selling. :guitarist

If you use a spoon and roll it along the edge it will get rid of any small bumps :thumb....your only pressing it such a small amount and a small bit that I cant see it doing any damage or affecting safety

This is all good to know! I have a system 5 just hanging up in the shed for all the same reasons. The first day I wore it I was crippled by the headache across my forehead so it got banished to the shed!
I am going to try the spoon method............:)

had the same problem with one i got from ebay found that standing on my head for an hour or two with the helmet on helped also wore it to bed for a couple of weeks have you not got a mate:comfort with a big head to wear it for a while,,,
