Just bought a System 5 - fine in show room but after 20 mins ride the vice started to turn big time. I've followed all the threads I could find but wonder if anyone has either compressed the polystyrene or skimmed some off to relieve pressure area around the forehead. I can't buy a larger size than 64/65. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Yes I compressed the poly around the forehead area. It will compress quite easily with your thumbs.

Since you've already stated an aversion to pain - I guess the frontal lobotomy is out?

Al :D

Thanks for the advice - the lobotomy may benefit the rest of society but sadly would still leave the offending osseous case intact & the helmet too tight. There again - perhaps the lobotomy might allow me to smile through the pain.

I had the same with mine....... took a few months use but it does go away..... nice and confy now :D

Right - glad I could help :thumb (or not - probably)

Sounds like you got propper advice from the others, though.

Had the same with mine - put up with it for a few months but wasn't getting any better. Tried everything. Ebayed it for half what i paid for it - ouch!!

Best of luck.

rather late, I know, but...
when I brought my lid, I couldn't decide between a shoei or Arai. The bloke in the shop told me to wear each for 15 mins + while looking around the shop. I did this and within 30 minutes I discovered that I didn't have a Shoei shaped head, but the Arai was dead comfortable. I wouldn't buy another helmet without a short test drive. So try and find a good dealer with a big enough place for 30 min wandering around with a helmet on feeling silly.

All my 'elmets are like this - system 4 was.

I just take a skim with a very sharp knife around the forehead rim - job done in 5 mins.
