OK I'm new to all this Bluetooth technology however I have invested in a new System 6 helmet with Bluetooth at great expense. I have a Zumo 660 and I have paired them up etc. however apart from the nice lady saying "devices connected" when both are turned on I then get absolutely nothing from the Zumo in the helmet speakers. I've made sure the volume settings are up for both devices and the Zumo happily announces away and plays mp3s through its own speaker but still nothing in the helmet.

Am I doing something daft or does the System 6 only work with the BMW Navigator!!!???

Any help much appreciated.

Am not sure...

what could be causing your problem but the 660 works fine with the System 6 Helmet

I have the mixer on the 660 set to 100% on Master, Navigation and Media then use helmet to control volume. Helmet is connected in the Bluetooth Audio section and that works fine.

Thanks for that. My setup exactly same.

Deleted pairing reestablished pairing and still same. Phone pairs with gps and works as expected but nothing in helmet. Will have to go back to garage for this one I think.

Not familiar with Zumo

....wish I was but on a TomTom car thingy I have to decide and select the 'mode' of the output, internal speaker, external cable output or Bluetoth.
Perhaps yours has defaulted to the internal speaker?

Hth but doubt it

I have the Zumo 660 and the Schuberth C3 helmet with Schuberth Rider Communications System (SRC System),which is probably similar to yours.

I am fairly sure that the Zumo's own speakers do not play when the Bluetooth is connected to the SRC System. I once decided to reset the Zumo and lost the pairing. I could hear the navigation prompts from the Zumo internal speakers, but of course nothing from the helmet. It is strange that the System 6 voice is saying 'connected' though, if the Zumo still thinks it is not connected.

The other problem I had with not being able to hear audio in my Schuberth helmet is that the volume controls on the SRC system (and presumably the BMW System 6) only work when there is actually music or a voice prompt playing at the time. This is not in the manuals, but was the first thing Schuberth Tech Support told me to check.

Check the Bluetooth settings in the Zumo under Tools, Settings, Bluetooth. Make sure that the BMW System 6 is shown as connected under the Audio section of Bluetooth and that Bluetooth is enabled.

system 6 and zumo660

I have the same system as you and whilst i didn't have the same symptoms that your experiencing, the end result was the same, it didn't work. My local Dealer suggested i did a reset on both helmet and zumo...bingo perfect ever since.

The helmet reset is easy as its in the book. I'm not sure the zumo reset is in the book. The Dealer did it for me whilst telling me Garmin told him how to do it. Might be worth you checking it out but it was something like: whilst turning on you touch (constantly) bottom right of the screen till you get a beep.

Probably got that wrong as it was a few years ago and have never needed it since. But if no one on here knows it let me know and i'll go back to the Dealer who did it for me and get the info.

Sounds about right:

How do I perform a Master Reset on a zumo?

01/13/2011

The Master Reset can be used to clear out any corrupt data that could cause the device not to function properly.

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints of favorites and will restore your device to the default factory settings. If you would like to back up your favorites you can find instructions to do so here.

To do a Master Reset:

Remove device from any type of power source
Power the device Off
Place and hold your finger in the bottom right corner of the touchscreen
Power the device On
Release the power button after the device powers On
Continue to hold your finger on the touch screen until you see "Do you really want to erase all user data?"
Release your finger from the touch screen
Touch Yes
Follow the on screen prompts

*Please note if you have a Zumo 220 you will need to press the dot to calibrate the screen before you get the message in step 6.

After the Zumo is set up, if indoors, please go outside to allow the device to acquire the satellite information. Ensure that the device has a clear line-of-sight with the sky.
