has any one got or tried a system 6 helment and whats the verdict?

I was bought one recently as a present, and so far very pleased with it.
I like the pinlock which gets rid of the misting problem, and the sunvisor which I think is a great idea and works well.
It also seems significantly lighter than the System 5 and fits me well.
Colour choice is poor in my opinion and I don't much care for the large "BMW" lettering on the back, but these are minoir issues really.
I have had no quality issues, but as I said I have not had it long - I was told by a dealer that you must use the slider control to raise and lower the sunvisor and not push it up with your hand.

I bought one last week. The visor needs a final push to close completely. If you just use your hand to push it down, it will remain open a few mm. Then one has to push it a bit extra to firmly close it. I've gotten into the habit of doing the final closing with my thumb under the chin of the helmet and my index finger on the edge of the visor to pinch it close. I can live with it as otherwise it's a good helmet.
Just used it in a patch of heavy rain (about 30 minutes) and it did not fog up or leak.
It's also very quiet, far quieter than the system 5 or Shoei XR-1000, both of which I've used.
Quite easy to take on and off as well with the ratcheting chin strap.
Finally, on mine anyway, the sunshade visor seem a bit loose and is making an irritating noise, have to look into this.

Just got mine today and am well pleased with it. In comparison with my old System 4 it's a much better fit, a lot lighter and a lot quieter.
No problems with the visor closing, left hand side to close to 1 notch then thumb and finger both sides to finally close, or hard close from left hand side.
Sun visor works a treat, very smooth and no rattles.
I did detect a lot of misting on the visor when I first put it on then realised that I hadn't taken off the protective film from the inside

The issue with the visor closing is easily handled by clicking down from the top of the visor (the dealer should show you how. Once you know it's easy).
Sunshade is a really nifty feature. Tint of it seems to work particularly well in most daytime conditions, I wear contact lenses and seems to be very good in 'soothing' my vision.
Works fine with Autocom set-up.

Picked mine up, lasted 5hrs before the front lower air vent dropped off - while I was riding, didn't even know it had gone 
. Replaced under warranty with no probs from the dealer, 
However, that was the weekend of the GOTC, still haven't received a replacement as the one that was sent was the wrong size, again nothing to do with the local dealer
I had to use the helmet for that 1st weekend and certainly found it better than my System 5. Rode in some pretty heavy rain on the 1st day - no steaming up or leaks. Unlike my Systen 5, which borders on the dangerous at times.(aye I've treated the outside and inside)
1st impressions indicate it is a good helmet,
I'll just have to try and get the autocom headset fitted.

Hi I wear glasses and find that if the visor doesnt mist they do!! how have you found this helmet?

no problems so far , actually im quite impressed as i always wore my arai with a foggy face mask in bad weather . Now with the sys 6 the arai might just be made redundant . It seems to do all jobs.

Hi everyone,
Just for information to anyone thinking of purchasing a System 6. Get it before Christmas. I had a chat with the dealer who was at the BMW national rally a few weeks back and he said that BMW are intending of jacking the price up to £375 after Christmas because they apparently under-priced the helmet in comparison with the cost of the Schuberth C3.
I am not sure how much truth was in that, but I don't think he would have said that for the fun of it. I just thought I would let you all know.

Hi All,
new system 6 under test/scrutiny at the moment due to complaints of visor/finish,
So far it has been fault free, internal visor mechanism is smooth and will stay in place at just about any level required,
The external visor (in consultation with the Manufacturers) is meant to stay open at the lowest level as many glass wearing riders find this reduces misting. Yes, to close it takes a firm push, however the Manufacturer states Visor can be fully closed with one hand, by either first pulling the right tab to full lock then the left (worked for me)
OR (as mentioned in thread) tucking a thumb under chin bar and applting firm pressure.
Comfort is high and the Neck strap is easily adjusted to maximise fit.
Some people may prefere the padded chin piece removed (simply fixed in with Velcro) this can improve fit and operation.
BMW rear lettering is NOT laquered in so can be removed (glue is water based and residue easily removed with a polish such as Auto Glym)
It has withstood a good downpoor and remained dry.
Earphones can be worn comfortably and there is room for small speakers (autocom style)
hope this help...as far as price increase gossip...I am told not yet in the current market...(note the word current?)

I rode 5 hours yesterday in a new system 6 - MUCH quieter than my C2.

Tried one on today in Chester BMW. Compared to my current Shoei Multitec it is much lighter although feels a bit more solid. There was a release from BMW this week on the Bluetooth parts being available. Apparently can be fitted to the lid without any structural work. Got home and did some Googling for info and reviews seemed negative. For that price I would, on reflection go for a Schuberth - the build quality is reportedly better. I have the part numbers for the Bluetooth kit if anyone needs them.

I bought a System 5 and although it was great quality the padding exerted a touch too much pressure on my forehead and gave me killer headaches. I went back to a Shoei multitec which done 30k plus miles in 2 or so years but now has been dropped 2 or three times off the bike and is getting a little old and loose. It's been great but I find it quite noisy so I'm looking at the Nolan, Schuberth and Sys6.
So far the Nolan is good value but the Schuberth is much smaller (shell) and much lighter. Can't get near a sys6 as Motorrad Central are closed on Mondays!
Any other flip fronters I should consider? I wear glasses and use earplug headphones.

Having tried a System 5, System 6, Schuberth C3 and various other flips over the last couple of weekends and finding that only a Multitec fits "properly" you might struggle to find a good fit in a flip of those makes.

I tried on and loved the System 6 helmet but my chin is too close to the front of the helmet for comfort. It this just my elongated chin or has anyone else found a similar issue? If feels like if I fell on the front of the helmet the first thing to go would be my jaw bone. Annoying as I really want a System 6
