System 6 Sun Visor

Have a system 6 helmet with the sunvisor - the thing jammed in the up position after only a couple of uses. I have managed to remove the siun visor so that I can see the mechanism but am unable to get it to work again. Checked manual and it says very sensitive mechanism or some such thing - on a £400 quid helmet! Does anyone have any Ideas on how to ressurect the sun visor system

If it has jammed from fairly minimal normal use, I reckon a trip to your dealer is in order. I have heard of them breaking if you try to lift them directly rather than using the proper mechanism, though, and the instructions warn against doing this. I am sure none of us have done that.

Mine was replaced under warranty for doing exactly this.

When I bought mine I was told not to try lifting the Sun Visor manually always use the slider. This will damage the mechanism and invalidate the warranty

I know of an incident where this happened to a system 6 bought from an Essex BMW dealership, it was returned to the dealer to be repaired, they dismantled it and couldnt put it back together.

Not a dealership well known for its after sales service but it goes to show just how delicate these things are. He was told he would have to to make do without the sun visor or buy another helmet. Not sure if it was resolved.
