System Case Locks

have been careless locking the system case on the GS. the little red pop out alloy piece now has been cleaved off, lock still works but want to fix it. Someone else must have done the same any ideas on how to get into the mechanism to repair it, getting the plastic surround off would be a start.

I had the same problem. If you get in touch with the nice pepole
at motor works thay can get a kit to repar the lock. I think it was about 25 quid for the kit and you get evrything you need including instructions

Part number for that kit is 7160 7654 337 and is also available from a BMW dealer.
