System pannier Orange 'Tab'

The orange tab on the lock on one of my 11xx system panniers is broken off.... its this something that can be replaced :confused:
 
Looks like my one, height from mandrel face to opposite end of head is the issue, but if you have one, you can make it work.
 
Well, got the kit, got the rivets out and at the point of re-assembly using the new bits.....

Just a question...

In the instructions when fitting the front trim


"Adhere the spacer studs in the holes with superfast adhesive"

Any reason why you need to use glue when there doesn't appear to be any originally :confused:


Is it necessary... and if so will hot glue do... as they thoughfully don't send a tube with the repair kit :thumb
 
Airfix adhesive would probably be okay but I wouldn't glue anything in there although I would ensure my rivetting was good. You may need a practise run to get it done correctly.

Those rivet guns are okay, I have one, but you may need to ensure you have the correct rivet size: The rivets on the ADV top box latches are a BMW sizing experiment but a local engineering suppliers found something close to what was required.
You may need to look at some fiches to find the correct sizing.

The kit I eventually got from Motorworks has the rivets included... so I assume they originated in the factory and will be the right size... the instructions are the original BMW ones in a nice little book with over 40 pages and most languages :D
