Ténéré owners sign in

Hi mate,

Just bought my new XT660Z tenere with 800 miles on the clock, shes now got 2000 on and have not really been anywhere yet - but its only a matter of time. Would like to get across the water on it next year !! maybe a few french camping trips ahead?!

Its standard at the moment but hope to get heated grips a Puig black taller screen annd rear hugger. I love it.

unfortunately - not sure if im being a bit thick but cant figure out how to get a picture on here : (

You will have to get yourself over too

loads of info just like this site :D

I got a blue one.

They've only been out here in aus for about 2 months and the expectations were massive by the advrider crowd, but i' don't 'think' its been backed up with hard sales yet.

I had to get something to replace my aging and tired old dominator, which although still perfectly reliable was just starting to need real money thrown at it.

I like it a lot, its plenty quick enough for out here, its a perfect fire trail and open single track type bike.

seat is not good tho' but i've got a plan :D.

I bought an 08 XT 660 Z last month and very pleased with it so far although I am having the seat changed to get rid of the hump.

anyone know which footpegs fit that are wider and lower?

I got one!

Dabbled with the idea for ages, but in the end i thought stuff it and traded the SV, put the difference on a credit card and got a used white one.

Done a few green lanes as a trial and it seems good but taking it easy until I get sump and hand guards. Might go to wales for a long weekend so will probably be back here for advice on where to go!

Just bought a lovely 1992 660 Tenere and its took me 2 days to suss how to get it started but i will say it runs sweet as a nut and cant wait to do the Dragon Rally on it in February.

If anyone got any odds and bits for a 3yf they dont need i will be gratefull of the donation:- especially some pannier rails.

Toys

New toy just arrived last red one i think GW forgot to tax it so sat here but it is -2 so it can wait.
Lots of bits ready to go on after shopping trip to Big Den but Yam top box hand guards and heated grips :thumb
Oh and never sold the plate but looks good here

I have one too...

Ténéré owner for 9 months - bought as new (red) can't believe how much they have shot up in price since I got mine.
I love it - not really qualified to give expert opinions on technicalities of the machine as I've not held a bike license for a year yet but from drooling over a Yam brochure when I had my YBR125 on L plates - I saw the Ténéré and though mmm that's for me.
Mostly commuting 56 miles a day, Sunday fun and .. wait for it... cutting across fields and parkland when the traffic is bad!
Am just about getting over the 'ain't it new and shiny' stage so looking forward to some (gentle at first) off roading soon.

Was nice to find you guys here!

Pete - 10.30
