Just another post to recommend T-tech suspension for anyone looking to have their suspension serviced.

They’ve had my front and rear ohlins for a week and almost ready to return. They’ve been in touch via instagram sending photos and keeping me up to date with the progress. Looks like they’ve not been serviced in nearly 20 years…

I can’t bloody wait to get my bike back!!!

It really will feel like a totally different bike. Don't fall into the trap of feeling "it's fine" in another 4 or 5 years and 25-30k miles...it will have slowly degraded and be perhaps 60% as good as it was.....

It felt amazing before,

I’m amazed really because it felt absolutely great before… I suppose it shows the quality of the suspension!! I only decided to have it done due to the fuel line issues I’ve been having but I’m glad I did!!

Looking to get my KTM 1290 forks / shock serviced so will drop them a line.

Forks are probably pretty easy for any half decent mechanic, but the semi-active shocks (or most OE shocks for that matter) are not designed for maintenance (Shocking!!!) and you are expected to live with ever decreasing performance or spend a grand plus every 5 years / 30,000 miles to stop them becoming horrible,

With the electronic adjustment it becomes more obvious to me, both my 1190 and 1290 KTM started off fairly firm from new, to the point I rarely changed out of "comfort" for the first couple of thousand miles as they "bedded in" (or appeared to) then I switched between comfort and street almost exclusively for the next ~10k miles, but then started to ntice less time in comfort, it went from being OK at a moderate touring pace, to feeling quite wallowy and being utilsed less often and only on really crappy roads.

As my 1290 now approaches 20k I am sure the handling has dropped off regardless of mode, obviously I could do the traditional thing and pay £10k+ to trade in for a newer bike, or maybe a just blow a few hundred quid on a suspension service, maybe another few hundred for a remap and have a very nice fresh feeling bike for a grand?

The front Ohlins was rebuilt totally a year before you bought it … cost over £250 at the time, all new innards and service kit.

The rear I cannot vouch for………

Lukasz wasn’t confident they had been touched! He’ll Even back it up with the dyno numbers…Out of curiosity who rebuilt it?

An independent mech I use in Southbourne, West Sussex he’s done loads of work for me over the years - very competent and trustworthy.

He knows suspension well..

Had to have it sorted as it shit the bed in the Pyrenees.. loosing its gas then peeing it’s oil out back through France

😩🫣 best part of £500 later and my shocks are looking good as new again.

Still can’t fault their service and communication. I’m even more excited to get my bike back now!
