Hi guys just bought a tachyon xc action cam for my summer trip and just wondered if anybody had mounted one of these on a 1200gs and if so where. Would appreciate any advice . cheers.

Hey Stevie.

I bought one last year and have only used it once. I did a crude job of gaffer taping it on top of one of my spots whilst abroad. Unfortunately the angle was such that all I reviewed later was grey sky . I would play about with the positioning so you can get the best angle before making a more permanent fixture. I know RAM provide a mount for the boxed Tachyon supplied mounting but in my opinion the best place would be on your helmet. This reduces vibration and you get a better allround view.

Also only use the camera in perfect sunny conditions as anything overcast or even slightly grey will come out dark.

I can't help with mounting options but I can add a comment about helmet mounting.

The recorded footage will not show the lean of the bike around bends because you tend to keep your head somewhat upright.

RAM mount is the best option, you can place it on the crash bar just under the spotlight, or handle bars as well. With a bit of creativity, you can find many places to put it :D

I disagree. A GS is one of the few bikes that does still show the lean when it's helmet mounted cos the screen sticks up enough to show:

On a sports bike for instance agreed you have no idea of the lean.
