Tail bag

I've been looking for a tail bag for my new GSA I've jsut ordered, but the only one I've come across is this:-

I'm a bit loathed to pay £89 for a small bag like this though, can anyone suggest anything more reasonably priced?

Wht don't you just get an Oxford Products or similar tail pack/tank bag and bungee it on the rear seat/rack. You can get a bag/pack for less than £50.

i have one of those bags and i can assure you it is good quality and fits the bike perfectly - oxford products do a comprehensive range of luggage - check this out

Serious question. Have you Googled 'Motorcycle tailpack' or something similar?

If so, did anything catch your eye?

Bods on this site use anything from a Lidl bag to full blown Adventure panniers and topbox.... There's an entire world out there.....

I don't mind paying for things, but don't like paying over the odds, and that touratech one seems very pricey to me. I will hunt around, but maybe I'll just have to put the touratech one on my birthday list or something and not think about the price or it will haunt me

I've ordered the top box and panniers as well I just wanted something for when I go out for a quick blast and wanted somewhere for my disclock and wallet as, if my memory serves me correctly, there's no under seat storage on the GS's is there?

Very little room under the seat, except where the tool roll is meant to go.

You can buy a u-lock that will fit beneath the seat, for sure. Wallet? Keep in pocket.

I bought an Abus cable lock, which I hung off my GSA's offside crashbar. OK, it won't withstand a prolonged concerted attack (what will) but it good enough for lobbing on, as opposed to doing what most folk do, which is nothing. It is long enough to go around a lamppost or to secure two bikes together.

Having it hung on the outside, using its own little cradle, makes it is easy to use. The combination lock means that there is not one more key I have to cart about.

Don't forget your helmet holder too. I've attached my helmet on many occasions and am sure your disc lock would fit too.

I already have the motrax Vishas Disk lock so don't want to buy another really. I don't know why I said wallet as it does always go in my pocket :-/

Check your manual once your bike arrives but its a little hook to the edge of your seat on the 'port' side. Take your seat off and attach helmet through the D ring and then clip seat back on. You can't remove the helmet without removing the seat. Although I only use it when the bike is in full public view....I have this phobia that some runt may p*ss in it

A dog pissed on mine when I put it on the ground for two seconds. Delightful for the next week or so around Europe

Does it not come with a handy pouch to keep it in? If so, strap that that to the frame.

About £12 IIRC.

Touratwat again I am afraid and £87 a pair but these hold a lot of stuff and have the added advantage of providing a bit of padding on the side of the crash bars.

Not lockable or waterproof but if you can get over the fact they are from TT they are a great way to store the little things you want in a hurry. Can be removed easily and locked in a pannier if you are worried about security.

Didn't know about the converter. Got one of these knocking about somewhere. Nice bag and very waterproof indeed but a little awkward to use I found. Might give it a new life as a tankbag for the comms stuff.
