Tail bag

There is a way to get a free one.

Here's how.

MBNA have a credit card called a 'biker card'. It is advertised frequently in Motorcycle news.

From the end of last year they have been running an advertising campaign whereby if you sign up to the MBNA Biker Card and spend £200 in less than 90days they will send you a free oxford first time tail pack.

I have now done it twice. Got a Kriega R3 wasitpack about 12 months ago and the Oxford tail pack just arrived this week.

I have another credit card which I much prefer to use, but I'm always up for a good deal.

What I do is sign up to the card, spend the £200, pay the bill in full when it comes then don't use it again ever.

I pay no interest and get the freebee for nothing. After a year or so MBNA cancel the card. Then I take another card out when a nice free gift comes up again.

I noticed the advert in MCN 2 weeks ago but not this weeks. It may have just ended, but watch out in case they maybe didn't advertise for a week.

Check your manual once your bike arrives but its a little hook to the edge of your seat on the 'port' side. Take your seat off and attach helmet through the D ring and then clip seat back on.

I have used similar helmet locks on other bikes but found the GS one a pain to use as its necessary to remove two seats and the front seat can be fiddly to fit. Mentioned this to dealer who said he had heard reports of riders returning to bikes to find they now owned a D ring and a short length of webbing so safer not to use it.

Bought a couple of Pacsafe "Lidsafe" bags which have been in use for nearly five years now and are great. Helmet stays off the ground and the steel mesh between the bag's nylon outer and fleece inner makes it reasonably hard to nick. Velcro straps on the closed end of the bag can hook round handlebars, frame. etc. so the opening is at the bottom and the helmet stays clean and dry. Unlike the seat hook or using chain around helmet chin the bag can also secure gloves and other small items placed inside helmet. They take up little space in my little Touratech tool bag on rear rack or in top box when touring.

Lost one of mine recently and got replacement from Nippy Norman at large discount on normal price.
