just checking my bike over ready for the mot the brake light works when the lights are swithched off but when theyre on it will not work, the lamps ok any ideas please

The bulb has been inserted in place 180% out, and one of the filiments has blown,

cheers are the pegs not offset so they cant be inserted 180% out the bulbs not been touched since last years mot

They are offset but can be "forced" so they fit, and it all works as normal until a filiment blows.

of course it might not be this at all, but it's an easy check.

did you file off one tab , if ye had a regular bulb , this can wobble around eventually.
