I removed the side Vario mounts with no problems and properly covered the loose cable ends with rubber blanks. The tail did not overly sag during this as I properly secured it to not fall more than enough to get my hand in. Since doing so I am hearing an electrical buzz coming out of where the radar plate is or one of the tail lights not sure. Bike is functioning normally. I separated the ends from each other and also tried using electrical tape instead but no change.

I want to reiterate that at no point did anything get pulled on, supporting itself via the cables or pinched.

Just checked mine, yes the radar buzzes all the time the ignition is on. You have to get close to it to hear though. I have the pannier rails on still and everything as standard.

Interesting I guess I never noticed until working on the bike and being behind it checking the functions.

I still feel it's a bit louder but probably in my head.

If anyone else is able to test this id really appreciate it, especially someone who has removed the vario mounts.

Thanks for the replies.

Post a recording of the sound. I'll tell you if it's the same. I wouldn't have heard mine until you asked and I put my ear above the rear seat. Try not to worry about it if I was you, so long as there are no errors and everything is working you've got 3 years warranty anyway.

Can't really hear anything on the video other than like background\white noise, sorry. Been trying to attach an MP3 sound of mine but it won't let me. I'm not sure it's not even the rear led lights making the noise??. Seems to get louder near each rear light. Hold the phone microphone near one rear light and move it across past the radar to the other rear light whilst its recording??.

Try turning it up or with headphones there is a lot of highway noise coming through but that buzz/hum is there it might be mistaken for bugs.

Ill try to capture a cleaner one tomorrow lol
Or, reconnect the connectors to the mounts loosely (don't have to bolt them on or anything) & then see if you still hear the noise.
