Hey all....just a quick heads up to take extra care on the roads in the morning.

I`ve just come in....and there`s a VERY heavy and thick frosting on all the roads, pavements and parked vehicles.
It`s all glistening evilly in the moonlight.

I`m off to work at 5.30am and thought I`d check over my 650 Ural ( which lives outside ) in preparation for the morning ride.
It took 15 minutes with de-icer and WD40 to free off the clutch and brake levers...the clutch pushrod was even frozen in situ :eek.

Even the padlocks on my gates and the dropbolts were frozen solid.

Generally if my part of the Wirral gets a freezeover the rest of the country is REALLY bad.....so please take care tomorrow.

And don`t kid yerself you`ll 'be alright in a car'.

Be careful,peeps. :thumb2

well, thats one good thing about my first shift being "afters "then

Tarka... were you ever an extra in Hill Street Blues*?

*This above reference will be totally lost on you i suppose :D

Weather forecast ...

... has just been on; it's expected to rain in many parts of the UK overnight, adding water to frozen roads = lots of ice around in the morning  Good job i'm on the tube to my new role :bounce1

Spot on Tarka. We had to take the car out earlier but had to give up as we haven't seen ice like it in the 13yrs weve been here. :eek

It hasn't rained, but I'm not joking our back and the access lane is literally like an ice rink and that is no exaggeration. I'll try and take a photo later. I couldn't even walk to the road, let alone drive a car up the gentle hill to the road.

Just got in walking from the pub, slippery as eel sh!t out there so good advice for the morrow....

Had a short run to and from Stockport this evening and it was slippier than an eel in a barrel of oil. The back end did a little smudge to the left everytime I went around a roundabout. The front end was losing traction in places and I wasn't on the brakes at all.

I washed all the salt off when I got home but when I emerged from the car park it was really freezing everything in sight and it's snowing now here. If it rains or the snow freezes tomorrow will be lethal.

Might be a long walk to work in the morning.

What a change in the weather overnight......it`s just a damp and almost mild morning.
